LOOKING AT ART

It is certainly darker and colder when we set out for our walks now. We saw a pink haze of sky and beautiful views of Shepton when we were up on Barren Down and then my phone went! I had a text from Interlink Couriers announcing they were going to deliver a parcel shortly.  It is good that nowadays they tell you an hour window when they will arrive - saves all that waiting.  So we had to make our way home and our walk was somewhat curtailed!

Landscapes by Jenny Graham and ceramics by Clio Graham at Spring Farm Arts.
However, once the parcel had arrived the day was my own, so I decided to visit a couple of places open for Somerset Art Weeks.  I went to the pretty village of Moorlinch to Spring Farm Arts where I had a chat to Jenny Graham who does fantastic oil paintings of Somerset landscapes.  I have done a couple of courses with her, which were great fun and informative.

I then went to see the artist Nancy Farmer, who is a fellow all year round wild swimmer, except, unlike me,  she doesn't wear wetsuit, even in the Winter!  What's more she doesn't just get in and out, she likes to stay in the water, if not too cold, for an hour!  She has been producing a series of drawings on her phone and tablet documenting her swims throughout the past year. The work with her comments are funny, so true, and remind me of my swims, especially as she does a lot of swimming at the same place.  I bought her 'Swept Away' calendar with a swimming pic for each month of the year!
