It was all a little half hearted with me this morning, have to be honest - I've been drenched once too often of late! However, the early morning buzz of the market traders cheered us up..
We stopped and chatted with the fishmonger and picked up some beautifully fresh fish. He spoke of where he sources his fish, mainly from Looe Fish Market, Cornwall. I chose cod, which I enjoyed for my lunch today, lightly pan fried with butter, lemon juice and black pepper, and served with steamed veg - very nice! In the photograph some mackerel is being filleted for Helen - she doesn't like to cut the heads off herself! We are lucky to have such fresh fish on our doorstep as fish is so good for you! Harts are at the market every week, whatever the weather, and do a roaring trade.
I love looking at the flower stall in the market. Here I am, caught on the market cross, giving some bunches that have just arrived a closer inspection! Just had to show my shocking pink nails - a colour I never wear! I had a mad moment after seeing how nice they looked on a client!
Helen wore full waterproofs today, determined not to get wet! As you can see we did catch a glimpse of sun, by way of this perfect Sunflower!!
