BRIGHT, BUT BITTER WIND!

Bitterly cold, bright and beautiful today.  We tramped on the Mendip Way to the top of a hill overlooking Shepton.  Not sure if it was the whipping north wind or the incredible views, but what a 'sight for sore eyes' and runny noses!!  It surprised us how sprawling Shepton Mallet looked - quite clear from such a great vantage point...

On our decent, we were able to collect up a few turnips! A great addition for one of Helen's veggie hotpot creations!  Foraging? Yes, I suppose it was - the field had been cleared of its crop and these few were laying on the top of the soil.  We collected them in Helen's woolly hat!

We saw the bright yellow Celandines (common plant member of the buttercup family (bottom left), and daffs were out all over the place - clinging on for dear life!...
